That’s a Cirsium Horridulum! Most common in Britain! It might be the American version, given the thistles are thorny (Texas? I believe it’s the Carduus Nutans. Given the sunflower shaped bud, it appears to be the Nuntans, which is an invasive species kind that looks identical to the Texas thistle and is called the Mechanical Musk Thistle in plain english). They’re a great source of nectar for the bees 😊expect some friendly butterflies to pay you a visit as well!

Thistle! They get a lot of hate, but I love them.

Hey Legit question for botanists, Do you think this would/ could grow in the Connecticut to Massachusetts region of the US ? Inside prop is not a problem I have many T5 lamps as well as some 800 sh’s if necessary for proper flowering before planting outside.?

They grow like crazy in my backyard and honestly I love it. The flowers are so gorgeous.

A nightmarish weed where I’m from. Possibly Scotch Thistle? Millions upon millions of seeds.

Purple spikey ball of doom. That’s what I named it before finding out it was thistle. I’m very allergic to it.
